WHAT IS UNLOCK FITNESS?
A private fitness space that has been kitted out so that people of all levels fitness can use it. Functional fitness is the main aspect of unlock fitness, we aim to get people moving and working their muscles with exercises that people do in their day to day life.
The Space also has two clinic rooms which are used for consultations and massage therapy. There is also a kitchenette where you can have you pre and post workout food and drinks. Showers and chaining rooms are also available.
When recovering from injury or surgery we use a mix of resistance, bodyweight and cardio based exercises. Using these exercises, massage therapy and a progressive system we aim to build your strength back, improve movement round the joints and get you back to a functioning level (if not better).
When an injury or surgery affects muscles and their movement it can cause other muscles to compensate and work harder than they are used to, this can then affect movement at joints by reducing movement or causing pain.
Massage therapy is not just for sports men and women, it can be for anyone. If you find you get tight neck and shoulders when sitting for long periods this will help relax the muscles and even improve your posture.
There are many benefits of massage that not many people know about. Although it is mainly helping relax muscles there is also a big psychological benefits to having a massage as well.
Using a mixture of cardiovascular, resistance/bodyweight exercises and massage we work towards your goals focusing on the areas that are set out from the start. Using specific training methods that tailor the training to your specific goals that will challenge and improve yourself.
To follow you progress throughout your training measurements are taken at the beginning and at various intervals to see how you are doing. We have an initial consultation to discuss what your goals are and a quick history of you health and fitness.
Training is continually changed and adapted to keep the sessions interesting and challenging.
