Big Box - Huddersfield

Been going to this gym for a while now and honestly it does the job. It’s a proper big box gym so you’ve got everything you need — loads of machines, a solid free weights area, and really convenient opening hours which work well for me. I’ve also tried a variety of classes, including yoga, and even been to a few of their evening events and sound bath sessions, which are a really nice touch and something a bit different. I also use the spa area regularly, and that’s definitely a highlight — perfect for unwinding after a workout. It can get lively at peak times, but that just shows it’s a popular place. Staff are friendly and always happy to help when needed. Changing rooms are generally clean and well kept. Overall, it’s a solid gym with plenty on offer and good value if you use it all.

So lucky to have this amazing modern sports facility in our area. Management so ready to listen to customer recommendations on possible improvements. Everywhere kept clean and a mention in particular to the gents changing room cleaner who never stops. The new sauna is an excellent addition. The adjacent Padel centre is also a spot on facility with a family helpful atmosphere from all who work there. Big thankyou. Nick

AVOID if you are looking for a gym where you are treated well and can enjoy a pleasant and stress free environment. We used to love this gym but it started to go downhill about a year ago. There is almost zero chance to book a class due to the member/class ratio, and there are queues for almost everything else. Parking is very difficult with up to 30 minute wait by which point you will have missed the class. It is quite sad to see the shift from a place that once looked after its members and was the best gym far and wide to a place that only cares about profit and discounts the experience of its members entirely.

It's great generally, clean, efficient and friendly. Staff are helpful and there are lots of class options for everyone. The biggest issues are with use of infra red sauna by people who want to use their phones! And the steam room by people who want to talk at length and loudly. These places should be quiet and relaxing...not like a busy cafe.

As a business owner and member BigBox have built a lovely community in Huddersfield. I was never interested in going to a gym until I joined and now I’m going to classes 3/4 times a week. The gym is always clean and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. The spa is gorgeous and feels like a real treat - I’ve paid for spa days which haven’t felt as nice as the one here! Highly recommend joining
